How To Clean & Restore Headlights | Faded Headlight Restoration
Today I will show you a trick to quickly and easily restore yellowed and faded your car headlight.
Warning! This process uses sulfuric acid, which is highly corrosive and dangerous, so proper precautions and protective measures are necessary.
You will find many videos on RUclips showing hacks on how to restore lights with citric acid or toothpaste, but these methods are mostly ineffective. In this case, sulfuric acid was used, which ate away all dirt and irregularities. Of course, this alone was not enough, so I had to use sandpaper and a polishing pad. I found this 20-year-old Alfa Romeo GTV V6 engine rocker cover and intake manifold very cheap and thought it would make a perfect restoration project. This is one of the dirtiest, most burnt on and badly cast rocker covers I have come across. Making it an ideal candidate for a Restoration video.
Why haven't you balanced an re-shaped the rim? This one is as round as an egg!

I just had a few sets of 15" rims sandblasted. They were very rough. $20 each. A few rattle cans of turbo Rustolieum and they look good. Will the paint hold up? I have NO idea.
Wouldn't it be easier to laser clean the rim? Definitely way faster and therefore more cost-effective...

Where do you get the kit
I live in Arizona. Very dusty. I spray my engine out once a week. My radiator looks brand new still. Where did this car go lol
The acid bath used here can only be purchased under licence in the U.K. you can’t just pick up a bottle at Halfords ( I don’t think)..

If it’s a soft plastic paint it will only last a few days max.
I’m not sure why you were even cleaning the coolant overflow tank and going to all this trouble. I didn’t even know what you were using for liquids until finally I noticed some description on the top left. However, I am not a chemist, so I don’t know what all those symbols mean. Unless you have a classic car and everything perfectly clean this is a waste of time and you’re messing up your dishwasher. For $25 you can buy a brand new overflow tank for most cars.
Why so much effort when you can go and buy new wheels...

why no sound except back ground noise? no product pics or information on where to get the acid? stating this because i have tried every hardware store, Walmart, big box store and auto parts store within 50 miles of me and no one carries it. Did you use a liquid or mix a powder or crystal with water?
It would've been helpful if there was some narration on what you used to clean it. No idea on what solutions were used.

We've restored hundreds of these by just adding soil, soap and water and then start shaking. The expensive ingredient is the shaking..need energy.

There's no way with big flakey rust that it started with, that it came out that smooth before the putty! I've cleaned wheels with way less rust that had DEEP pits 🙄

Heard of brush plating. This would had been great in the '60's & 70's as our poor man's mag was a chrome plated factory rim. Will this hold to the elements?
